Review Methodology

Review Methodology

AdoreVogue reviews and roundups are built around practical use. We look at how a beauty product fits into a real routine, not only whether the marketing sounds appealing.

What We Evaluate

  • Product fit: Skin type, hair type, finish, coverage, texture, shade range, fragrance, sensitivity concerns, and routine compatibility.
  • Ingredients and claims: We compare product claims with ingredient lists and common guidance for the category.
  • User experience: Application, wear time, packaging, learning curve, residue, transfer, pilling, and ease of removal.
  • Value: Price, size, frequency of use, availability, and whether a lower-cost option performs similarly.
  • Feedback patterns: We look for repeated praise and repeated complaints across verified buyer reviews, not one-off reactions.

How Products Are Chosen

Products may be selected because they are widely used, frequently recommended, newly relevant, strongly reviewed, budget-friendly, or useful for a specific reader need. We do not include a product only because it has an affiliate program.

How Rankings Work

Rankings are based on usefulness for the article’s goal. A product can rank highly for one reader and still be wrong for another. That is why our guides include best-for labels, pros, cons, and buying advice instead of only a single winner.

Limitations

Beauty results vary by skin tone, skin type, hair texture, climate, application method, and personal sensitivity. We update guides when product formulas, availability, or reader feedback changes the recommendation.
